Europcar takes part in tree planting initiative with councils

Europcar Mobility Group UK has joined forces with local councils to plant trees across some of the biggest UK cities, helping to improve the cities’ green spaces and air quality, whilst boosting local ecosystems and wildlife habitats.
Europcar colleagues have taken part in planting schemes in London, Glasgow, Cardiff and Nottingham, planting 4,500 young saplings, as part of future woodland creation projects.
More than 40 Europcar employees volunteered to make the project a reality across the four cities, with participants planting ecologically valuable tree species, including natives such as Alder, Rowan, Oak and Hawthorn.
"We are incredibly proud of our colleagues who took part in this meaningful and impactful project," said Gary Smith, Managing Director, Europcar Mobility Group UK. "Working with Trees for Cities, this initiative is just one example of our commitment to making a positive difference to the environment. By contributing to the restoration of natural habitats and enhancing the beauty of these cities, we are also leaving a lasting legacy for future generations and future carbon reduction.”
The tree-planting campaign is part of Europcar's wider efforts to integrate sustainability into every aspect of its operations. The company has already taken several steps to promote eco-friendly practices, such as introducing electric and hybrid car and van options to its fleet, using electric cars and bikes for its Delivery & Collection service and electrifying more than 65% of its network.
