BP stations in North Carolina to get EV fast chargers

News

Mark Oil, which distributes fuel for BP, is going to work with Nissan to offer free DC fast-charging in 10 fuel stations in North Carolina, US.

Mark Oil, which is a chain of local convenience-store and gas-stations, will offer Nissan’s ‘No Charge to Charge’ promotion, which provides two years of free charging to new buyers of Nissan Leaf electric cars. This promotion is now in effect in 50 cities throughout the US.

The joint effort also involved backing and assistance from Duke Energy, Stroupe Electric, the City of Charlotte, and the State of North Carolina.

According to the partners, the 10 fast-charging stations are "the largest city-wide deployment of EV chargers at a chain of fueling stations in the US."

This deal, Nissan says, means that drivers of the Leaf will be within 10 miles of a fast-charging site anywhere in the metro Charlotte area.
