The AA’s business services division has launched a new yellow paper, designed to help fleets on their routes to alternative fuels amid political and economic change.

Collating vital guidance on key topics including taxation, EV charging infrastructure, servicing and driver training, the AA’s third yellow paper of 2022 explores the current landscape, charting its impact on businesses, while establishing a road map to embracing the opportunities of transitioning ahead of the 2030 deadline.

Expert contributors to the yellow paper include the BVRLA, Rightcharge and Paua, in addition to AA Cars, Drivetech and Prestige Fleet Servicing, all part of the AA. The yellow paper was launched at the third ‘AA Talks’ webinar series of 2022, which featured an exciting panel of expert speakers. This included AA president Edmund King, director of business services James Starling, EV new business development manager Dean Hedger and BVRLA director of corporate affairs Toby Poston.

James Starling, director of business services at the AA, commenting on the launch, said: “No business is making the transition to alternative fuels at the exact same point. However, wherever they are on their journey, we know all too well from speaking to our customers that they need guidance from a consistent, reliable voice amid today’s backdrop of constant change.

“Partnerships and collaboration are critical during times of transition. The yellow paper outlines the opportunities facing businesses as they make the switch, while arming them with the go-to insight they need to ensure a smooth transition to alternative fuels. We have very much enjoyed compiling this essential tool to help our customers make the most of the opportunity, and we look forward to continuing to assist businesses wherever we can on the route to alternative fuels.”
