All-electric Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 unveiled

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, which features an all electric powertrain.

The luxury-class coupé is designed to pay homage to the age of the aero coupés, reinterpreting classic design principles.

Set to make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elégance, the new Maybach measures almost six metres in length and features a shadow underfloor battery with a usable capacity if approximately 80 kWh.

The electric powertrain has an output of 550 kW (750hp), offering acceleration from 0-100km/h in under four seconds, a top speed of 250km/h and a range of over 500km (200 miles).

Gorden Wagener, head of design at Daimler AG, said: “Our glamorous coupé, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, represents the ultimate in contemporary luxury. It is hot and cool. With its intelligent appeal and reduced, technoid look, it perfectly embodies our design philosophy of sensual purity and our pursuit of aerodynamic efficiency."
