Volkswagen e-up! now available to order

The all-electric version of Volkswagen’s up! is now available to order in the UK.
The e-up!’s 82 PS electric motor boasts a peak torque figure of 210 Nm, with acceleration from 0-62 in 12.4 seconds and a top speed of 80mph.
It is powered by a 18.7kWh lithium-ion battery and can achieve a range of around 93 miles on a single charge.
Despite the 230kg battery weight, the total weight of the vehicle is still relatively low at 1,139kg, thanks to extensive weight saving measures, and it can be recharged from a standard household plug in nine hours.
Prices start from £20,780, including the government plug-in car grant (PiCG) of £4,500, and deliveries will start in October 2016.
