Toyota delays launch of Prius Prime plug-in

The launch of the new Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid has been pushed back several months and is now expected in winter 2016.

Reuters reports that the Japanese launch of the plug-in has been pushed back from the initial schedule of autumn, but Toyota has not yet given a reason for the delay.

Sales were also expected to begin in North America and Europe in late autumn following the Japanese release. It is likely that the push back will mean American and European drivers will also have to wait a little longer for the new plug-in version of Toyota’s flagship hybrid.
