Certas Energy updates free online fuel calculator

Sustainable fuel distributor Certas Energy has updated its free online fuel calculator with 2025 data from the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, aimed at empowering companies with the data to make informed decisions on their fuel needs.

This marks the first time both calculators have been offered by Certas Energy across all industries, where businesses can analyse their specific fuel needs for fleets, off-road vehicles and site equipment.

Certas Energy states that the updates aim to provide more informative, real-time simulations of carbon emissions savings for companies that are based on the latest Government figures.

This move provides insights for businesses, empowering them to be more informed when switching their vehicles and machinery from diesel to more sustainable fuels like hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90 per cent.

According to Certas Energy, the HVO Carbon Savings Calculator should be used in tandem with the HVO & Diesel Balancing Calculator, an industry-first digital tool that provides a full breakdown of the overall cost of a blended fuel mix, and which helps businesses understand the financial implications of integrating diesel and HVO. 

The company’s ambition is for at least half of its customers and partners who switch from diesel to HVO to use one or both of these free digital tools.
