INEOS Inovyn begins trial of liquid hydrogen powered trucks

INEOS Inovyn has begun a trial of hydrogen-powered trucks, led by Daimler, with its PVC customers in Germany.
 
INEOS Inovyn will be running the fleet of Mercedes-Benz GenH2 trucks, along with Amazon, Air Products, Holcim and Wiedmann & Winz.
 
Powered by liquid hydrogen, the trucks are able to carry up to 40 tonnes of PVC product with a range of more than 620 miles. The trial will run over the next 12 months and will see INEOS make around 250 deliveries in the Rheinberg area to help understand fuel-cell technology in real-life operations, with an ambition to expand customer deliveries into Belgium next year.

Benefiting from a range of more than 620 miles, the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Trucks are able to carry the same payload as a conventional diesel vehicle. Along with Amazon, Air Products, Holcim and Wiedmann & Winz, we are working with Daimler Truck to run their first trial fleet in Germany.
 
Running over the next 12 months, INEOS will make around 250 customer deliveries across the Rheinberg area to understand fuel-cell technology in real-life operations, with an ambition to expand deliveries into Belgium and the Netherlands next year.
