Turbine-recharged electric supercar to be unveiled at Geneva

Chinese business Techrules is set to showcase a turbine-recharged electric supercar at the Geneva Motor show this year.

The GT96, which was revealed in concept form last year, uses Turbine-Recharging Electric Vehicle (TREV) technology, and is now set to make its debut.

It has a range-extending micro-turbine system that generates electricity to charge the battery and this then powers the motors that drive the wheels.

The vehicle has been designed by Fabrizio and Giorgetto Giugiaro, and has been engineered by the international motorsport specialist L M Gianetti.

It is said to have different configurations for the interior by having a centrally positioned driver, reversing LEDs and integrated rear-view cameras.
