Norfolk event spotlighting electric vehicles

News

Travel Norfolk, Travel Electric is a free event hosted by Norfolk County Council that will take place at the Forum on Friday, 18th July.

Organised in partnership with Let’s Experience Electric, the event will give people the chance to test drive the latest electric car and bicycles as well as attend presentations from leading figures at the forefront of Norfolk’s EV revolution.

Attendees can expect a jam-packed line-up, featuring test drives, industry insights, and networking opportunities. Visitors can ask specialists questions on making the switch to electric, and exhibitions will promote success stories from organisations already benefitting from EV adoptions.

The event is one of many electrifying successes from Norfolk City Council, as it recently completed its latest round of EV charger installations in Norwich, working with EV chargepoint provider Blink, which saw the council install 47 chargepoints across the city.

Norfolk’s EV transformation continues with the announcement that Norfolk has been awarded almost £6.5 million from the government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund, which will go towards delivering further charging infrastructure for residents without off-street parking.

Councillor Graham Plant, cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and transport said, “I’m looking forward to the Travel Norfolk, Travel Electric event in July, which will be a fantastic showcase of the wide range of electric vehicles available. I’m especially eager to hear from businesses that have embraced EVs and benefited from Norfolk County Council’s efforts to make it easier for people across the county to choose this greener, cleaner form of travel.”
