Luxury electric saloon Mercedes EQS to go on sale late summer

Mercedes has said its EQS - its first all-electric luxury saloon from its EQ brand - will go on sale from late summer, with first UK deliveries expected at the end of the year.

Mercedes say the car can provide up to 478 miles of range on a single charge. The first model to arrive in the UK will be the rear-wheel-drive EQS450+. It produces 333PS, which is enough to deliver a 6.2-second 0-62mph acceleration time. The EQS450+ can be charged up to 186 miles in 15 minutes, using a 200kW rapid charger, the company says.

An all-wheel-drive EQS580 model has also been detailed, with a more powerful 523PS output thanks to a twin-motor all-wheel-drive.
 
UK pricing and specification will be confirmed when it goes on sale in late summer.
