The Department for Transport has said that the temporary relaxation of the enforcement of drivers’ hours rules will end after Sunday (June 14).

The Department for Transport introduced a temporary relaxation on the enforcement of both the EU and GB drivers’ hours rules in England, Scotland and Wales on 23 March 2020.

This was in response to unprecedented pressures on local and national supply chains, due to exceptional circumstances stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak.

On 31 May, the relaxation of the GB drivers’ hours rules was extended until 14 June 2020.

However, the DfT has said they will not be extended it further and so will come to an end after Sunday (June 14).
