Mitsubishi and OVO Energy announce a new partnership

Recognising that meeting the UK’s net-zero carbon commitment by 2050 will require collaboration and partnerships across industry, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and OVO Energy have announced a new partnership to help drive the decarbonisation of transport.

The two businesses have teamed up to offer innovative green solutions to their respective customers. This follows OVO Energy having already committed to decarbonise its own operations and halve its members’ carbon footprint by 2030, offering a one-stop zero carbon solution at home and on the road called EV Everywhere.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, also known as The Colt Car Company, has been selling the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the UK’s and the world’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle, since 2014 and believes that plug-in hybrid technology has an important role to play in the transition to decarbonised mobility.

Tom Pakenham, director of EVs at OVO Energy, said: “Electrifying transport represents one of the biggest opportunities for like-minded businesses to work together and offer competitive greener solutions to their customers. We’re delighted to partner with Mitsubishi Motors to explore innovative and exciting ways to benefit our customers and the environment.”

Rob Lindley, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, commented: “OVO Energy and Mitsubishi Motors are ideally matched because both companies offer their customers the ability to take practical steps towards a greener future in a useful and pragmatic way. By joining forces, we will not only encourage even more people to accelerate their decarbonisation ambitions, we will also make it more convenient, affordable and practical for them to do so than ever before.”
