AA publishes decarbonisation roadmap for businesses

AA Business Services has launched its latest "Yellow Paper", Bridge to EV: Creating Business Confidence, a practical guide on what businesses can do to decarbonise their fleets - even if the majority of their vehicles are still ICE.

Outlining measurable actions businesses can take, regardless of where they are in their journey to decarbonisation, the Yellow Paper advises how businesses can lower the carbon impact of ICE vehicles, as well as busting the transition myths and common misconceptions that fleets may encounter on the road to electric vehicle (EV) fleets.

Gathering customer and industry partner insights, the paper brings together clear, actionable guidance to help companies make the right choices for their business.

“The EV transition in the UK is rarely out of the news. Decarbonising transport has its evangelists and its sceptics – and the debate can sometimes be extremely polarising. The AA believes that businesses need to cut through the noise and find a viable way forward that is designed around their needs,” said James Starling, director, AA Business Services.

“We are convinced that there is a unique path to decarbonisation for every fleet. It doesn’t matter if a company started their effort years ago, or if they are just at the beginning. There are measures that every business can take right now that are tailored to their own unique situation to ease the transition, which we’ve aimed to capture in our latest Yellow Paper."

This year, The AA celebrates 120 years of supporting drivers and their vehicles. As an organisation that’s committed to keeping businesses moving in an increasingly disrupted landscape, The AA has been described by customers as ‘a bridge to EV’. With a long history of advising on fleet efficiency for decades and developed support for businesses, such as EV driver training, The AA has drawn extensively on the first-hand experience gained from decarbonising its own fleet - a recovery fleet exceeding 3,000 vehicles, and a car fleet of similar scale.
