Routing and scheduling fleet optimisation specialist Optimize, formerly the Algorithm People, has appointed Rachel Riley MBE as its brand ambassador to drive market reach and brand recognition.

Riley, best known for her role on television’s Countdown as well as 8 out of 10 Cats and other television hits, is a graduate of applied mathematics and understands the crucial role algorithms play in enabling organisations to be more efficient and to decarbonise.

“Optimize has the technology and software in place to deliver a significant impact for fleet operators, supporting operational efficiency and the journey to a zero-carbon society,” Riley explained. “I’m looking forward to working with the team and playing my part in improving the efficiency of the fleet sector.”

The appointment of Rachel Riley comes at an exciting time of rapid business growth and technical development for Optimize. “We are in the process of re-branding the company,” explains company CEO Colin Ferguson, “and have a new, more powerful algorithm, ready for launch.

“The company has grown rapidly over the past 12 months. We have added exceptional new talent to our team and our client base continues to expand. I’m delighted Rachel Riley is working with us, her deep knowledge of mathematics means she understands our mission and we know she will be instrumental in helping to accelerate our growth plans. “

The new Optimize algorithm, based upon artificial intelligence, will be launched in April and will have the capacity to deal with more complex transport optimisation tasks, delivering improved efficiencies faster.
