Palletised freight distribution Pall-Ex has taken delivery of an electric IVECO truck to provide zero-emission freight and delivery services across the country.
The vehicle is a 28-tonne IVECO S-eWay Rigid featuring an Active Sleeper cab, 5700mm wheelbase, and seven modular batteries supplying 490kWh delivering up to 250 miles range on a single charge. Using a 350kW rapid charging, 125 miles of range can be added in just 45 minutes.
The 6x2 configuration hosts rear-steer, boosting handling and manoeuvrability in urban areas. Crowning the chassis is a Bevans Curtainside body with a Cantilever tail lift for optimal loading solutions. The addition of roof-mounted solar panels further boosts this truck’s environmental credentials.
The IVECO S-eWay powertrain consists of a dual motor eAxle developed by FPT and has 480kW of continuous power and 1,800Nm torque. Its uniquely compact design also preserves cargo volume while simultaneously enhancing refinement. Maximum range has been prioritised on this configuration, but the innovative modular battery system enables vast flexibility, offering four, five, or seven batteries, allowing operators to tailor their truck to its mission.
Paul Pegg, Managing Director at Pall-Ex Logistics, said: “We are proud to be the first in the country to take delivery of an IVECO S-eWay Rigid, marking another important step in our commitment to becoming a leader in sustainable express freight and logistics.
“The truck is ideally suited to inner-city deliveries, as it’s nimble enough to handle tight areas with ease, and zero tailpipe emissions allow us to operate in areas where traditional HGVs may face restrictions.”
Duncan Nurse, Business Line Director Truck, at IVECO UK said: “The IVECO S-eWay rigid is triumph of quality, design, and engineering. This truck delivers on operational capability without compromise, making the ideal platform for those looking for a zero-emissions heavy truck solution.”
