As the voice of the UK automotive industry, Mike raises the challenges manufacturers face as they work to meet decarbonisation targets. He has repeatedly called on government to take decisive action to keep the UK vehicle manufacturing market competitive and attractive to investment, while supporting consumers, industry and the wider economy. Under his leadership, the SMMT is also campaigning for transport depots to be prioritised in grid connection planning, recognising their critical role in the transition to zero-emission mobility.
