News

Road safety charity Brake has announced the agenda and keynote speaker for its annual Global Fleet Champions UK Summit, part of its Global Fleet Champions programme.

The conference will take place in person at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on Thursday 15 September 2022 and online via live stream.

Bringing together leaders from the fleet industry, the conference enables fleet managers and suppliers to share best practice in managing work-related road risk and provides a perfect opportunity for delegates to network with peers and industry experts. The Global Fleet Champions UK Summit 2022 is hosted by Brake, building on 25 years of experience of running fleet professional events.

The theme for the conference this year is the importance of government regulation and leadership in managing work-related road risk. Expert speakers will cover some of the latest industry developments within fleet safety, including vehicle procurement and maintenance, driver behaviour, incident analysis, driver health and wellbeing, education, training and sustainable fleets.

David Davis, Executive Director at the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS), will be the conference’s keynote speaker. David has a background in sustainable transport, road safety and public sector scrutiny and has been Executive Director of PACTS since January 2013.

The conference will be chaired by Andy Price from Fleet Safety Management. Andy has extensive experience in work-related road risk management and is a recognised and highly regarded speaker, motivator and facilitator.

More speakers and programme details will be added online as they are confirmed over the coming months. Alongside the programme, a range of exhibitors from a wide range of service areas will be available for delegates to meet throughout the day.

In person and online tickets are now available through the Global Fleet Champions website, priced at £100 + VAT. Free places will be available to representatives of road safety NGOs from low- and middle-income countries.

Scott Williams, head of programme delivery at Brake, says: “The conference provides an ideal opportunity to network and share best practice with international industry professionals and to hear from leading fleet safety academics and operators. We are proud to offer free places this year to road safety NGOs from low- and middle-income countries. Please visit the Global Fleet Champions website to confirm your place at this well-established event.”
