On-street charging network Connected Kerb now takes Zap-Pay

On-street electric vehicle (EV) charging company Connected Kerb is the latest network to go live on Zap-Pay, the payment method from Zapmap.

The network – which is the ninth to go live on the cross-network payment solution – joins live Zap-Pay partners Osprey, ESB Energy, char.gy, GeniePoint, Mer, MFG EV Power, Fastned and Alfa Power.

The completed integration means that a total of almost 7,000 charging devices across the UK are now Zap-Pay enabled, which allows Zapmap users to pay quickly and easily for their EV charging on all nine networks up and down the UK.

Connected Kerb, which aims to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility for everyone with affordable and accessible EV charging solutions, operates a network of around 2,000 chargers covering areas from Aberdeen to Plymouth.

Last year, Connected Kerb announced plans to install 190,000 public on-street EV chargers, worth up to £1.9bn, by 2030. The unprecedented investment intends to revolutionise access to EV charging for millions of drivers without off-street parking, and to support mass-market charging for workplaces and fleets.

Zap-Pay, a single-app payment system that uses a credit or debit card to pay for charging, was launched with a mission to include all the key charge point networks across the UK.

The payment solution avoids the hassle of using different payment methods across all the various networks, providing a simple way to pay for EV charging across networks from within the familiar Zapmap app.

With Connected Kerb’s on-street charging network now live on Zap-Pay, today’s announcement marks another important step towards affordable and accessible charging for drivers unable to charge their EV at home.
