Schindler takes delivery of first fully electric vans

News

This month marked the delivering of Schindler’s first batch of 15 fully electric vans in a significant step towards the electrification of Schindler’s commercial fleet. This isn’t Schindler’s first foray into electric vehicles (EVs), as they already have a successful “EV First” policy on their company cars, resulting in their entire car fleet being battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs).

This milestone comes as part of Schindler's partnership with Athlon UK, a leading provider of fleet management solutions, and is a development in Athlon’s long-standing collaboration with Schindler’s International fleet. Their new partnership in the UK highlights the commitment of both parties to a sustainable fleet future by allowing Schindler to focus on its core operations and having the best tools at their technicians' disposal, while leaving Athlon UK to handle management operations.

Paul Jackson, Schindler UK’s fleet manager, said: “Schindler UK recently appointed Athlon as the preferred Fleet provider and this has proved to be a highly successful transition. With the support from the Athlon team, Schindler have been able to significantly reduce the time spent on administration and management of our fleet. While our company cars are already at 100 per cent electric, Athlon have been incredibly supportive in assisting Schindler on the commercial vehicle EV journey. We look forward to continued support from Athlon in supporting Schindler to achieve our sustainability targets with our commercial fleet.”
