EV charging hub expands at Roadchef Chester services

Roadchef announces the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at Chester services, with six new Shell Recharge ultra-rapid r charging bays offering up to 300kW now available for use.

The newly installed chargers are equipped with Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors, providing compatibility with a wide range of modern electric vehicles. These ultra-rapid chargers allow drivers to recharge quickly and efficiently, ensuring they can get back on the road with minimal delay. All Shell Recharge points at the site accept contactless payment, provide real-time status updates to popular car charging apps, and use 100% renewable energy.

With this installation, Chester services now offer among the fastest charging speeds, and one of the largest EV charging infrastructure in Chester. The site combines multiple charging technologies, including both CCS and Chademo connectors, across 20 total charging points to serve the diverse needs of EV drivers traveling through this location. While vehicles are charging, drivers can take advantage of the various amenities at Chester. Whether stopping for a meal from McDonald's, a coffee from Costa or browsing the selection at WHSmith.
