AA selects Rightcharge for EV charging reimbursement

The AA has selected Rightcharge as its supplier for home charging reimbursement and the Rightcharge public charge card. AA drivers can tap the Rightcharge card to pay with company funds at 38 public charging networks.
Drivers also receive a monthly credit to their energy bill to cover the cost of charging their work vehicle.
What's more, employees do not need to manually notify Rightcharge when they switch to a new tariff or energy provider because Rightcharge has direct integrations with the providers themselves. This allows live data to flow to Rightcharge, whether or not the driver has a smart meter, and removes the risk of incorrect reimbursements. Fleets choose Rightcharge to eliminate complexities, reduce barriers, and simplify their charging and cost processes to accelerate their EV transition.
The AA, the UK’s largest motoring organisation, is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and achieving net-zero operational emissions by 2035. In this significant step towards sustainability, The AA has partnered with Rightcharge to equip its operational vans with a cutting-edge public and home charging solution. This collaboration will enable The AA’s roadside assistance teams to remain mobile and efficient while embracing environmentally friendly practices. Leveraging Rightcharge’s advanced analytics, The AA can benchmark charging costs and carbon analytics to gain valuable insights to
support their sustainability and operational goals.
Simon Ungless, Commercial Group Fleet Manager at The AA, commented: “We were looking for a solution to accurately reimburse our EV drivers for their home charging and a wider public network. We feel Rightcharge offers the best solution available in the market.”
Rightcharge's extensive public charging network spans across Europe, providing employees with easy access to a public charger at all times, be it a lamppost or an ultra-rapid charger.
At home, drivers can enjoy peace of mind, knowing that they will be accurately and promptly reimbursed directly to their energy supplier for charging their work vehicle. This eliminates any out-of-pocket costs for drivers. With Rightcharge, businesses receive a single monthly bill, drastically reducing accounting complexities. Furthermore, businesses can access a comprehensive dashboard providing granular data on charging costs and carbon analytics, which is readily exportable for easy analysis.
Charlie Cook, Founder and CEO of Rightcharge, said: “We are delighted to welcome The AA to Rightcharge. This partnership marks an amazing milestone
on our journey to help customers accelerate their transition to electric vehicles. To be supporting such an iconic British brand is exciting for the business and we are all looking forward to playing a role in The AA’s transition to a decarbonised fleet.”
