Jonathan Murray to take over as Zemo Partnership MD

Claire Haigh is to stand down as managing director of Zemo Partnership and is to be replaced by Jonathan Murray, Zemo’s director of finance, operations and business development.
Claire is to move on to a new opportunity at the University of St Andrews Centre for Energy Ethics, who are exhibiting her work, The Tabula Project. Her related report, The Art of Seeing, applies key insights from The Tabula Project to the tackling the climate crisis. Claire will be focusing on this project for the rest of 2025 but will still be an associate of Zemo Partnership.
Jonathan Murray has worked in senior positions at Zemo Partnership for approaching 20 years, and before he worked on transport/environment projects, including as director of transport at the energy saving trust. Among his many achievements are leading the groundbreaking Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce (2019-23), engaging in over 350 cross-sectoral stakeholder organisations, which had significant impacts on UK policy.
Jonathan currently leads Zemo’s trailblazing work for the Welsh government on decarbonising commercial vehicles in Wales, focusing on one of the biggest areas of challenge in terms of net zero transport.
In the last year, Zemo has published the Delivery Roadmap for Net Zero Transport, overseen by the Council for Net Zero Transport, chaired by Lord Deben (former chair of the Climate Change Committee).
Jonathan Murray said: “I am excited to take on this role at a critical time in the transition to decarbonised transport in the UK. We are well on the way to achieving our goals, though there are still challenges ahead both in policy and delivery… but if we get this right, the opportunities to create benefits for both our economy and our environment are huge.
“I would like to wish Claire well in her endeavour, through which she seeks to tackle similar challenges, but from a different perspective.”
