AssetWorks becomes a climate positive workforce

News

Fleet management provider AssetWorks has become a Climate Positive Workforce® through teaming up with Ecologi.

Ecologi offers individuals and businesses the ability to fund an array of verified climate impact projects. Its monthly subscription compensates for the average carbon footprint of all the company's UK employees, as well as contributing to the planting of trees.

While this is a continuous activity, at the time of writing, AssetWorks UK has supported the prevention of 22.5 tCOe from being emitted through verified carbon avoidance projects. That 22.5 tonnes of CO2e is equivalent to the approximate emissions from 88 round trip economy flights from London to Paris!

AssetWorks UK has also funded the planting of 311 trees across various reforestation projects such as planting forest gardens in Tanzania and restoring degraded land in Senegal.

"We are proud to be a Climate Positive Workforce®," said AssetWorks Managing Director, Mike Gadd. "At AssetWorks, we believe that sustainability is the foundation of the future. Our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and offsetting our unavoidable emissions is now not only in our software solutions; it is our whole workforce.”

AssetWorks is taking a holistic approach to sustainability, "we are committed to being a leader in sustainability and environmental stewardship," said Gadd. "We believe that the future of our business depends on our ability to step up and show the way. The whole team is excited to take this step to become a Climate Positive Workforce® and continue our sustainability journey."

AssetWorks' other sustainability initiatives include reducing waste, promoting renewable energy sources, and creating energy-efficient products.

“Being a software house, whose direct emissions are already very low, due to our hosting being carbon neutral, employees working remotely and our digital solutions it was hard to know where to improve. Ecologi has educated the team to understand the impact offsetting can have and it’s wonderful to see our positive impact on a monthly basis” states Gadd.
