FedEx expands UK network through new logistics hubs

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, has announced strategic improvements to its UK network, including plans to open two state-of-the-art logistics hubs close to its existing Kingsbury/ Atherstone and Marston Gate sites.
This strategic move consolidates its existing road hub infrastructure from five hubs into two brand new facilities, incorporating advanced technologies to enhance service for customers and support future growth.
The new hubs, expected to be in use by 2029, will each be bale to sort 32,000 packs per hour, and process different types of deliveries for customers, including international freight and e-commerce shipments. This has the potential to unlock huge growth for UK businesses across many sectors, including SMEs looking to trade internationally.
FedEx ships to 220 countries and territories, connects more than 2.5 million shippers with 200 million customers worldwide, and delivers 17 million packages globally each day. Having operated in the UK since 1984, it provides a range of transportation services for businesses trading internationally and domestically. As well as its road network, FedEx has operations at three air hubs across the UK.
The multi-year project at FedEx will affect working locations for some team members across its hubs. FedEx is committed to working closely with union an team member representatives on the delivery of the project to ensure team members are properly supported.
