Ben Mohide
Programme Lead - Fleet Electrification
Avon and Somerset Police

Ben Mohide is an accomplished transport sector professional, currently leading the Fleet Electrification Programme at Avon and Somerset Police. Ben is dedicated to developing solutions to enhance the delivery of policing as it transitions to a zero-emission fleet.

The programme will deliver upgrades to site electrical supplies and establish a network of charge points. It will also foster collaborative relationships with trusted private and public sector partners, leveraging the benefits of accessing charge points at fleet depots across the country.

With 15 years of experience in the transport sector, including eight years as fleet lead for Avon and Somerset, Ben led a generational re-design of fleet, restructured roles, secured investment in a distributed workshop strategy, and developed revolutionary fleet analytics tools – optimising the fleet and improving driver safety.

Having led Avon and Somerset to the 2024 Green Fleet Public Sector Car Fleet of the Year award, Ben recognises the importance of a holistic yet agile approach as we transition towards a zero-emission future.

Ben recently delivered three projects, funded by the Depot Charging Scheme, this resulted in ‘micro grid’ charging solutions being created at three Police sites - a first in UK Policing. A case study will follow, to measure the real-world performance and to establish resilience benefits.
