FedEx roll out all-electric vans in Belgium

FedEx is now using five zero-emission vehicles for pickups and deliveries in Belgium.

The all-electric Nissan e-NV200 vans have been introduced to FedEx’s fleet to be used in the cities of Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp.

Erik Uljee, vice president for Ground operations Benelux at FedEx Express, said: “As the world’s largest express distribution company with unmatched infrastructre and the latest technology, FedEx aims to make a real difference in shaping the future.

“Our first priority is to reduce overall mileage by optimising routes. As major cities with important last-mile deliveries, Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels offer the perfect opportunity for the Nissan e-NV200 vans.”

Patrick Roedolf, senior manager for Operations, Clearance and Brokerage Benelux, at FedEx Express, said: “The Nissan e-NV200 vans not only help reduce CO2 emissions, they are also quieter, which is generally a big issue in urban areas.”
