Roadchef opens EV charging hub at Rownhams Services

Roadchef has opened a high-powered super hub at Rownhams Services Eastbound, with six GRIDSERVE 350KW chargers now available.

Located outside of Southampton on the M27 eastbound, the new electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities will allow drivers to fully charge their vehicles in a matter of minutes.

All GRIDSERVE Electric Super Hubs feature CCS connectors and one charger at Rownhams has both CCS and Chedemo connectors, accepts contactless payment, and provides real-time status updates to a number of popular EV charging maps. The chargers are powered by 100% net zero carbon energy.

With over 70 High-Power chargers, over 40 GRIDSERVE Medium Power chargers, and 24 standalone AC chargers across 30 sites. Roadchef is at the forefront of upgrading and expanding the UK’s EV charging network, with fast and high-power facilities. The motorway service area operator is contributing to the growing number of charging facilities in the UK with 59,590 electric vehicle charging points across the country, representing a 47% increase in the total number of charging devices since March 2023 according to Zap Map.
