Route Monkey team with Heriot-Watt University for scheduling platform

Mobility solutions company Route Money will team up with Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh to create new algorithms to optimise the use of vans, trucks and passenger cars.

The partnership will initially focus on delivering the £1.5 million National Scheduling Platform project, which will allow the user to access on-demand route optimisation and scheduling solutions via a web portal.

The algorithms will be capable of making millions of calculations in a relatively short space of time, improving efficiency when compared to manual transport planning.

The platform aims to enable efficient transportation of goods and people, eliminating unnecessary mileage and helping to reduce costs and emissions.
