Renault to reduce the NOx emissions of its diesel vehicles

News

Groupe Renault has deployed a number of actions to reduce the NOx emissions of its diesel vehicles.

The measures will reportedly significantly reduce the NOx emissions of its diesel Euro 6b vehicles in real life driving conditions.

They will be applied to all diesel Euro 6b vehicles from July 2016, with Renault assuring that the measures will not have a noticeable impact on performance or fuel consumption.

The changes to the anti-pollution system include the extension of the operating range of the EGR systems, which plays a key role in the reduction of NOx. The changes will reportedly double the operating range at full efficiency of the EGR systems.

Renault has also enhanced the performance of the NOx trap. This change has increased the frequency and efficiency of purges to better manage the wide range of different driving conditions.

As well as featuring on all new Euro 6b vehicles, customers who have already taken a delivery of a Euro 6b vehicles will be able to have the modifications applied from October 2016. This will be provided free of charge via a visit to their Renault dealer.
