Basingstoke business park welcomes electric vehicle charging

News

Two rapid electric vehicle chargers have gone live at Chineham Park in Basingstoke, which is home to innovation companies Ericsson and Motorola.

Installed by InstaVolt, the 50Kw DC rapid chargers, from US firm ChargePoint, can take an electric car to 80 per cent charge in half an hour.

They are available to use on a pay as you go basis, with no subscription or membership required. Drivers simply tap their contactless credit or debit card, charge up and go. Drivers pay only for the electricity they use.

Wendy Scott, customer manager at Chineham Park said: “We are just starting to see the number of electric vehicles commuting and visiting the park increase, so we wanted to make sure we can provide a smart solution for both occupiers and their visitors. “

The new chargers at Chineham Park are located in the Spindlewood area, opposite Fitness First and Dayer’s Café, making it easy for drivers to charge up while grabbing a coffee or while attending the onsite gym.
