Rightcharge is calling on interested parties in the fleet industry to collaborate with them on solutions for rising home charging costs and unlocking substantial savings through EV tariffs.

With today’s increase in the energy price cap, the cost of home charging on a standard tariff has risen to 27 pence per kWh, an 8.7% increase from the previous price cap set in January 2025.

Data from Zapmap has revealed that over two million successful electric vehicle charging sessions are now taking place on the public network each month, with nearly 60 per cent of these on rapid / ultra-rapid chargers.

Zapmap is able to take advantage of open data opportunities brought about by Public Charge Point Regulations. By collating and analysing status data provided by charge point operators (CPOs) for each charge point in their network via the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI), Zapmap tracks the time each UK public charge point spends in use.

Wincanton trials TUAL solution to increase depot charging capacity

Wincanton has completed a trial of TUAL's PowerUp Charger to charge its electric vans.

The month-long trial was conducted at one of the Wincanton e-fleet operating sites in West London and took just 15 minutes to unload, install, and deliver high-speed, off-grid DC charging.

Delivered in partnership with Wincanton, Connected Places Catapult and Department for Transport, the demonstration showcased the ability for battery-integrated charging to increase available on-site capacity by up to 250%.

The AA has revealed it received over 7,000 calls a month to its charge post customer support service last year, with the top two reasons being unable to start a charge and the charging cable being stuck.

The AA operates a charge post support service and currently works with ten charge post operators (CPOs) across the UK. Running 24/7, a dedicated team of call handlers is able to deal with any problems a driver has at the charge point to enable them to continue on with their journey.

Scotland’s national Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network, ChargePlace Scotland, is now available on Zapmap's Zap-Pay service.

Zapmap app users can now use Zap-Pay, its in-app payment solution, to quickly and easily pay for charging across more than 2,800 charge points throughout Scotland, in addition to the tens of thousands of locations already integrated into the payment solution.

InstaVolt has extended its off-peak hours by two hours so that drivers have a longer period to save money while charging.

As of 4th February, drivers can access the cheaper rate of just 54p per kWh between 9pm and 7am, providing two extra hours to take advantage of off-peak pricing.

Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, said: “We’re always listening to our customers, and they told us they wanted off-peak pricing to start earlier and finish later.
