Plug-in hybrid BYD SEAL U debuts at Geneva Motor Show

BYD has launched its SEAL U DM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV which uses the brand’s Super DM Technology that prioritises electric driving with ultra-low fuel consumption and energy efficiency.

Unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show 2024, it will be available to European customers from Q2 2024.

Addison Lee is adding 600 new Volkswagen Multivans to its fleet.

The new vehicles are equipped with low-emission hybrid powertrains and will replace the diesel people carriers currently on the fleet.

Addison Lee's Volkswagen Multivans will join their 1,000-strong fleet of all-electric Volkswagen ID 4 vehicles, and 400 Audi A6s. They have made the move to hybrid in a bid to reflect the company's commitment to sustainable transport solutions.

Citroën’s new C5 X, which is available as a Plug-in Hybrid with up to 37 miles of electric range or with advanced petrol engines - has now officially launched in the UK.

Prices for New C5 X and New C5 X Plug-in Hybrid start from £27,790 and £36,470 MRRP OTR respectively, with first customer deliveries starting later this month (July 2022).

Kia UK has revealed details of its new Sportage Plug-in Hybrid, which has low BIK tax band thanks to low CO2 emissions and long electric range.

The new Sportage Plug-in Hybrid has an electric range of up to 43 miles (WLTP), rising to 48 miles on the WLTP City Cycle, and out on the open road, electric energy consumption is an 3.68 miles/kWh (169 Wh/km).

The new models debut an advanced hybrid system featuring a new 4-cylinder 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which delivers 130hp and 240Nm of peak torque, coupled with a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Symphony, manufacturers of fitted kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture, has reduced its car fleet carbon emissions by 43% through the introduction of plug-in hybrid vehicles into its fleet.

Symphony’s fleet partner, JCT600 Vehicle Leasing Solutions (VLS) used car tax software to model the whole of life cost method to reflect the true costs to Symphony. This, combined with tax benefits and fuel costs, enabled JCT600 to create a new choice list across all grades, offering multiple plug-in options per band at no extra cost.

Kia to premiere PHEV variant of Sportage at IAA Mobility

Kia will be showcasing its electric and plug in vehicle range at the IAA Mobility show, held between 7 and 12 September in Munich.

The carmaker will use the event to hold a global premiere of its Sportage plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Kia will also give a European public debut of its electric EV6.

The PHEV model features Kia’s 1.6 litre T-GDI engine, a 66.9kW permanent magnet traction electric motor and a 13.8kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack.
