Contract hire and fleet management specialist Grosvenor has announced a new partnership with local dealer York Ward & Rowlatt to provide customers with access to Leapmotor electric vehicles.

As a new entrant of affordable EVs to the UK market, Leapmotor’s T03 and C10 models will be available on both Personal Contract Hire (PCH) and Business Contract Hire (BCH) agreements through Grosvenor.

Glasgow-based fleet management and leasing specialist, Fleet Alliance, has seen electric powered vehicles take record market share in its order bank.

During the second half of 2024, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in electric hybrids (PHEVs) accounted for 79% of Fleet Alliance new car orders on its managed fleet of over 30,000 vehicles.

The BVRLA has reported that private motorists are beginning to catch up to business users when it comes to EV adoption, as personal lease agreements ( personal contract hire or PCH) tracked in line with ZEV mandate targets last quarter. Battery Electric Vehicles accounted for 21% of new PCH additions to the BVRLA’s leasing fleet in Q2 2024.

New global mobility brand Ayvens has been launched in the UK, following the aquisition of LeasePlan UK and ALD Automotive.

Ayvens is now the trading name of LeasePlan UK, with ALD Automotive UK following suit in due course as part of the phased integration of the two businesses.

The BVRLA has reported that 42% of new cars added to the BVRLA’s leasing fleet in Q3 2023 were battery electric vehicles (BEV), giving a strong foundation for the industry to achieve the 22% target set for total new car sales in 2024.

The sector is already operating more than 400,000 BEVs, representing more than a third of total cars on the BVRLA’s leasing fleet. The average age of cars on the fleet is just over three years, highlighting the role of the sector in feeding the used EV market with reliable second-hand cars.

For the first time, business contract hire (BCH) lease enquiries for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) have outperformed diesel and petrol sales enquiries combined, according to data from car leasing comparison site Leasing.com.

For Q3 2023, the data showed that BEVs were the most popular drive train, making up almost half (49%) of all business enquiries.

Nearly half of the company cars delivered in the first quarter of 2023 were battery electric vehicles (BEV), according to the latest BVRLA Leasing Outlook Report data.

BEVs were responsible for 49 per cent of new business contract hire cars. The salary sacrifice market has grown 41 per cent year-on-year, with 91 per cent of registrations pure electric. These figures are in stark contrast to the retail market, where BEV sales were responsible for 16 per cent of new sales and one per cent of used purchases in the first quarter.
