Audi taking orders for e-Tron

UK customers can now order the Audi e-Tron, as the German carmaker is now expected to deliver the first models in April.

Power comes from is a 95kW battery pack which powers two electric motors - one mounted to the front and rear axle respectively - which provide 300kW of power.

According to Audi allows the car is capable of travelling 241-miles on a single charge, with a top speed of 124 mph.

When plugged into a 150kW fast charger the battery pack can be recharged to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes from the charging points located on its front wings.

The car also utilises a quattro all-wheel-drive system and features adaptive air suspension as standard.

In the Launch Edition, traditional door mirrors are replaced with cameras which display the image directly onto OLED screen embedded into the door. Extras include adaptive cruise assist, camera-based traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera offering panoramic views of the exterior of the car.

Prices for the e-Tron and e-Tron Launch Edition start at £71,490 OTR and £82,240 respectively, with a £3,500 plug in grant available.
