Rhyner Logistik gains electric Renault truck with solar panels

Swiss haulier Rhyner Logistik has acquired a fully electric Renault Truck D Wide Z.E., which has been fitted with solar panels to power to the refrigeration unit.

The truck is being used to supply Denner supermarkets in Zurich and its suburbs.

Rhyner Logistik has also acquired a rapid charging station, and the truck is charged at the depot during loading operations.

When driven in an urban environment that requires frequent braking, energy recovery also leads to savings of 20 to 30 per cent, which prolongs its range.
