Totalkare

Company Focus

Workshop equipment experts Totalkare supply lifting, testing and maintenance equipment to commercial fleets and garages across the UK.  The West Midlands-based company offers an extensive portfolio of testing facilities such as brake testers, wheel and tyre equipment and fully equipped Class 7 MOT bays and a range of fixed and mobile lifting solutions to provide workshop solutions for light commercial vehicles, HGVs, bus and coach and even rail.

Totalkare’s vehicle lifts are expertly designed for busy vehicle workshops in a variety of industries. The light commercial four post lift and two post lift both cater to vehicles such as long wheelbase vans, minibuses and other similar light commercial fleets. The two post lift has a lifting capacity of between 4,500kg and 7,000kg whilst the light commercial four post lift has a slightly wider capacity of between 4,000kg and 8,000kg and platform lengths up to six metres. Both lifts are available either surface mounted or recessed into the floor for a flush and space-saving fit and can benefit from additional flexibility with a variety of manual or air operated jacking beams with up to 4,000kg lifting capacity.

Additionally, Totalkare’s class 7 in-ground brake tester is DVSA and GEA approved and specifically designed for light commercial vehicles. Both these elements come together with an emissions analyser, headlamp tester and play detectors to form a full class 7 MOT bay – all the equipment needed for a DVSA-approved MOT test centre. Totalkare work closely with customers considering a Class 7 MOT bay to help with the design, application, installation, training, and servicing.

Notably customers such as Crouch Recovery and RVSC have installed light commercial four posts in their workshops to increase productivity and capacity, whilst Fiveways Hire has installed a full Class 7 MOT bay. Totalkare continues to support Fiveways Hire with a service contract which includes two engineer visits for service and calibration per year as part of the Afterkare package.

As well as light commercial, Totalkare has many heavy duty lifts in the portfolio such as the Y-MECH Lift, heavy duty four post, mobile column lifts (including a galvanised option for outdoor use) and in-ground lift to provide both fixed and mobile solutions.

Mobile column lifts can be stored out of the way and wheeled into position. Working in configurations of four, six or eight, with a capacity of 7,500kg per column - mobile column lifts are the ideal lift for mixed fleets and smaller workshops. Totalkare have been the market leader for mobile column lifts in the UK for over 40 years. Many iterations of mobile column lift have been manufactured by Totalkare, with the newest model being the T8 range – offering cabled and cable-free versions for a flexible and space saving solution.

Pelican Engineering in Yorkshire, Orbit Coaches in Leicestershire and IPS International in Rochester are among the many bus, coach and HGV companies who have trusted Totalkare’s mobile column lifts to cover their workshop operations.

Totalkare works hard to maintain a strong culture and social conscience. The business has partnered with charity Ben in 2023 to benefit from fundraising events throughout the year. Totalkare has its own events planning committee and a busy social calendar, including internal activities such as brunches and breakfast as well as larger events held off-site.

As part of these efforts, the business recently achieved an “outstanding” award from Best Companies in a recent employee engagement survey. Ranking as 2nd best manufacturing employer and the 17th best company (of any size) to work for in the West Midlands.

Totalkare’s success can be attributed to three key areas - experience, product quality and range and the expertise of staff. Area sales managers, a network of expert UK engineers and support staff all work to provide an effortless process up until installation and beyond.

For workshop equipment it’s Totalkare.
