Multi-activity on the road

Road Test

Even though Sofie Lidefjard was a bit hesitant about driving the box-looking vehicle that is the Partner Tepee, she finds it’s not a bad ride

Not quite sure about the name but Partner Tepee is a practical multi-usage vehicle with plenty of space and comfort. It shares a platform with the Peugeot 308, which brings with it its comfort and safety.

I’m also not sure about the look of the Tepee, it is very square and looks kind of bloated. However, once inside I realise that the benefit of that is all the space that becomes available. The front cabin is spacious and the driver’s seat is positioned rather high so driving along I have a good view of what’s happening on the road.

The two front seats have an arm rest each, which is really comfy, however, it does nothing to help an ergonomically correct sitting position. It’s okay for shorter drives, however, I wouldn’t use it on longer ones.

The backseats are comfortable and roomy, and my three adult passengers agree the ride is smooth. Leg space is great and storage compartments for books, drinks and handheld game consoles are also aplenty.

The optional Zenith roof is unique and provides more light into the passenger compartment. Its use of four glass panels brings the outdoors inside and delivers innovative storage solutions.

Three individual folding and removable rear seats mean they can be lifted, folded and removed in a variety of combinations to fit your journey’s requirements with ease. Load volume beneath parcel shelf is 675 litres, to roof in rear 1,350 litres, to roof with rear seats all removed 3,000 litres.

There are two models – S and SE – and five engines to choose from. Telescopic hydraulic dampers, a deformable rear axle and torsional rigidity work together to create easy handling.

Safety
Up to six airbags are available. Ventilated rear brake discs, large rear disks and ABS come fitted as standard. ESP and Anti-Spin Regulation are available as options.

CO2 emissions come in at 150g/km, which isn’t bad, however, on a combined cycle fuel efficiency only reaches 49.5mpg. The vehicle is 95 per cent recyclable so that energy is saved long after its lifespan.
