Demand for Audi electric car manufacturing to take place in Germany

News

Labor leaders at Volkswagen’s Audi brand have called for the production of an all-electric model to take place at the main plant in Germany.

This is following concerns that the leaders may lose out as electric cars become more popular.

Next year, Audi will start to build the e-tron quattro sport-utility vehicle, its first mass-produced electric model.

It is set to be produced at a plant in Brussels, along with batteries that will also be used in other Volkswagen group electric vehicles.

The vehicle is expected to be powered by three electric engines, with an aim for it to run for over 311 miles per charge, based on a 95 kWh battery pack that can be fully recharged in about 50 minutes.
