GeniePoint to work with Renault to make EV charging easier

News

Renault EV customers will be able to pay for GeniePoint chargers electronically via the Renault Z.E Pass app.

Drivers will be able to use Renault software to find GeniePoint units, which have live status updates, before starting the charge with the RFID card or app.

It will be linked to the customers Renault account in order to take payment.

The app will be launched in the UK later this year and is set to make cross-network accessibility easier.

Alex Bamberg, managing director at ChargePoint Services – which owns the GeniePoint network – said: “Working alongside Renault to develop this integration between the GeniePoint Network and Renault’s on-board navigation system has been very exciting for ChargePoint Services.

“Making EV charging a simple and stress-free process for our customers is fundamental in driving the shift to adopting electric vehicles as the conventional choice for vehicle purchase in the UK.”
