Zap-Map app introduced to share charge point updates

News

The latest version of the Zap-Map app enables electric vehicle (EV) drivers to log charge point updates, allowing other EV drivers to locate suitable and operational charging systems.

The app is operational across the UK and enables drivers to check whether a particular charge point is working or not. The app also incorporates Zap-Chat, a community update facility, which has been rolled out on the web and as an iOS app, with the android version released in mid-Febrary.

The app encourages EV drivers to indicate a successful charge, update charge point status and add photos and comments to provide better information regarding the UK charging network.

Melanie Shufflebotham, director of Next Green Car, the company behind Zap-Map, said: “We are delighted that there have been so many user posts on Zap-Chat.

“Our aim is to provide a central information resource and smart tools to enable EV drivers to locate suitable, operational charging points for their zero emission journeys, and provide updates for the EV community at large."
