Colchester Borough Council to roll out town centre EV charge points

Colchester Borough Council is planning to install electric vehicle charging points in its town centre for local shoppers, visitors and residents.

The points will potentially be installed in car parks as part of plans to encourage electric vehicle use.

Cllr Jessica Scott-Boutell, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Waste and Sustainability, said: "I am pleased to be able to announce the plans for these electric vehicle charging points.

“This is part of the effort to improve air quality in Colchester and beyond. We want to enable residents to switch to more environmentally friendly electric vehicles by making them more convenient to use across the borough and supporting the growth of a network across Essex."
