News

Volkswagen is making progress as planned with the technical measures to fix the EA189 engines with NOx issues involved in the diesel scandal.

Technical fixes have begun in Germany, with over 50 per cent of affected Amarok 2.0-litre engines successfully modified by Volkswagen.

Around 4,300 Amarok vehicles have now had new engine software installed, enabling them to meet limits required by the EU5 emissions standard, with the Volkswagen 2.0-litre Passat scheduled to follow in March.

A software update is also planned for affected 1.2-litre engines, with modifications expected to start at the end of the second quarter. The affected 1.6-litre engines will also require a flow rectifier to e fitted as well as the software update, which is expected to be carried out in the third quarter of 2016.
