Addison Lee acquires Climatecars for larger eco-friendly offering

The premium car service Addison Lee has announced the acquisition of Climatecars, an environmentally friendly passenger service based in London.

The purchase of Climatecars will act to further strengthen Addison Lee’s eco-friendly offering, after the launch of ‘Addison Lee Eco’ in February 2015, which added 350 hybrid vehicles to the company’s fleet.

Climatecars operates as an entirely environmentally friendly fleet, servicing over 650 companies and customers throughout greater London. Climatecars’ 115 vehicles will join Addison Lee’s existing fleet of 4,800, expanding the company’s eco-friendly offering alongside their VIP, corporate and international divisions.

Chief executive officer of Addison Lee Liam Griffin commented: “We are very pleased to announce Addison Lee’s acquisition of Climate Cars. This deal will boost our Add Lee Eco offering, providing more variety for our passengers but with the same best-in-class experience they expect.”

Founder of Climatecars Nicko Williamson said he was “delighted with the deal” and added that Addison Lee’s Eco service is in line with Climatecars' original goal "to push for mainstream adoption of hybrid & electric cars in the private hire sector".
