Campaign launched to increase awareness of EVs

The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) and the Energy Saving Trust have teamed up together to boost awareness of ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEVs) among UK car buyers.

As part of the campaign, a series of roadshow events will run in partnership with dealers to improve understanding about the benefits of EVs.

It also aims to give consumers the opportunity to experience the latest electric technology.

The events will explain what an ultra-low emission vehicle is and how making the change could save buyers money.

They will also uncover myths regarding the range and costs of ULEVs, and show how changes to our cities in future will make these vehicles more beneficial.

The roadshow will begin in Leeds in April, with further events hitting London, Derby, Nottingham, Southampton and Birmingham.

All of the cities are part of the government’s new air quality plan to meet EU statutory nitrogen dioxide (NO2) limits across the UK.

Neil Addley, managing director of NFDA Trusted Dealers, said: "This new partnership will give consumers a first-hand look at the developments in the ULEV market and how making the switch to a low emission vehicle could save them money."
