Vauxhall and Ryze to collaborate on hydrogen refuelling for fleets

Vauxhall has partnered with Ryze Hydrogen to develop hydrogen charging infrastructure solutions for fleet operators.

The UK-based, hydrogen infrastructure distributor Ryze will collaborate with Vauxhall to inform the development of a widespread hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for companies running UK fleets.

Vauxhall is currently planning to hold fleet evaluation trials on its Vivaro HYDROGEN vehicle during 2024, with orders for the hydrogen version of the Movano also received, ahead of first customer deliveries in 2025.

The Vauxhall Movano HYDROGEN is expected to be suitable for drivers travelling long distances emissions-in-use-free, boasting a range of up to 311 miles and a refuelling time of around five minutes.

James Taylor, Managing Director at Vauxhall, said, “With the help of businesses like Ryze, drivers will be able to add hydrogen vans to their fleet trouble free and with accessible charging options at convenient locations.”

Mark Gilks, Head of Business Development – Mobility at Ryze, said: “Ryze is at the forefront of green hydrogen production and supply, and we are incredibly excited to be working with Vauxhall and its customers on tailored solutions to their Net Zero ambitions.

“Every business is different and while some may want their own fuelling facility at their depot, others may be looking at a co-location solution, and that is where our experience comes in.”

Last year (2023), a Ryze-led consortium secured over £3m ($3.7m) in government funding to develop mobile hydrogen refuelling for construction sites.
