Dixons Carphone has signed up to the EV100 initiative and pledged to switch its commercial fleet to electric and alternative fuel vehicles by 2030.

The EV100 initiative, led by the Climate Group, encourages companies to adopt more environmentally friendly transport with the aim of making electric vehicles the new normal by 2030.

Dixons Carphone is the first technology retailer to join the initiative which currently includes over 80 major companies including AstraZeneca, DHL, IKEA, LeasePlan and Unilever.  Part of its pledge includes continuing to install electric vehicle charging points wherever possible across the estate.

Alongside committing to switching its commercial fleet to electric and alternative fuel vehicles by 2030, Dixons Carphone hopes to transition at least 50 per cent of its medium duty vehicles as wells and if swapping to EV is not possible due to technology restraints, the company says it will use other ultra-low emission solutions.

Dixons Carphone has also signed up to Logistics UK’s ‘Van Policy’ Working Group, to help shape and develop future policies for the operation of light goods vehicles in the logistics industry.
