Smart is set to introduce a new electric range, with a new electric version of the fortwo and forfour models.
Daimler, Smart’s parent company, is collaborating with the Renault Nissan Alliance on the development of these two new EVs.
Both EV models will be based on the same platform as the Renault Twingo, using the same electric motor as the Renault Zoe with a new battery produced by Daimler.
Performance details are yet to be announced, but the vehicles are expected to go on sale in late 2016.
