BMW witnesses EV boom in US

News

German manufacturer BMW has said that it is witnessing an increased up-take in its electric vehicle (EV) sales, with one in seven of its cars sold in the US being an EV.

As part of a sales boom in April in the US, the BMW i3, i8, and X5 xDrive 40e accounted for just under 15 per cent of all BMW passenger vehicle sales—a combined 2,572 cars out of a total of 17,786 cars sold last month.

The US, UK and Scandinavia remain the best selling markets for BMW’s EV and hybrid vehicles.
