Germany looks into implementing diesel sale ban

News

Germany is considering putting a ban on the sale of new diesel cars in the future, similar to those confirmed in Britain and France.

According to Next Green Car, chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed that the country must eventually follow moves by other European countries in banning the sale of new diesel cars.

In an interview with Superillu magazine, she said she did not want to name an exact year for the ban.

Merkel agreed that plans to remove petrol and diesel cars from sale and focus on electrified vehicles is “the right approach".
